Congress President-designate Rahul Gandhi visited the Cyclone-Ockhi affected areas in Kanyakumari district of Tamil Nadu today. He interacted with the affected fishermen and listened to their grievances. <br/><br/>He expressed his sympathies for the families whose close relatives are found missing due to the cyclone. <br/><br/>Later, he told the media, fishermen were promised a separate ministry at the Centre, though it is yet to be honoured. <br/><br/>He said if a separate ministry had been established for fisheries, the rescue and relief works could have been coordinated better. <br/><br/>He observed that farmers also have been badly affected by the cyclone in the district. He said he would raise the issue of the plight of cyclone affected people in Parliament.
