The Congress Vice President Rahul Gandhi today criticized BJP government for not giving any priority to farmers' problems. Leading a padyatra (foot march) to raise farmers' issue, specially sugarcane farmers, in Saharanpur district of Uttar Pradesh, Mr. Gandhi said that Prime minister had promised for good days, but he asked where are those Achchhe din (good days). He interacted with farmers and listened to their woes on the way.<br/><br/>About eight kilometer long padyatra was held on the Saharanpur -Ambala Highway. On the way Mr. Gandhi addressed corner meetings and interacted with farmers of Hardakhedi, Sikrikalan and Patni villages.<br/><br/>During corner meetings, Mr. Gandhi said that UPA government had done a lot for farmers and had also waived off thousands of crore rupees of loans of farmers. He also underlined MNREGA and said that through this UPA government successfully provided jobs to thousands of rural labourers.<br/><br/>Several congress leaders including Sriprakash Jaiswal, Nirmal Khatri, Jatin Prasad and Madusudan Mistry also took part in the march.
