Rahul Gandhi promises change in liquor policy if voted to power in Tamil Nadu

Congress Vice President Rahul Gandhi promised a new liquor policy if voted to power in Tamil Nadu. He was addressing a rally at Tiruchirapalli Tamil Nadu last night, as part of the birth celebrations of former Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu Kamaraj. He said more than 30,000 crore rupees is being earned through liquor sales in Tamil Nadu and ruling parties are not interested to lose this revenue. <br/><br/>Congress will strive to remove the pain suffered by those affected by liquor in the state, he added. Rahul Gandhi promised the youth jobs so that their lives are secured and said that liquor is eating away the hard earned money of families in the state. He said that Kamaraj built families and communities and promised to bring back Kamaraj rule in the state. <br/><br/>Earlier Rahul met farmers from various parts of the state and promised to fight against Land Acquisition Bill which is against the interests of farmers. He promised to find solutions to Mullaperiyar Dam issue and Cauvery river water sharing problems.

Congress Vice President Rahul Gandhi has promised a change in liquor policy if voted to power in Tamil Nadu. Addressing a political rally today at Tiruchirapalli in Tamil Nadu, as part of the birth celebrations of former Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu Kamaraj he said that new liquor policy will be formulated as per the aspirations of women in the state. <br/><br/>He accused that more than Rs 30,000 crore is being earned through liquor sales in Tamil Nadu and regional ruling parties are not interested to lose this revenue. Congress will strive to remove the pain suffered by those affected by liquor in the state, he added. <br/><br/>It was a sea of people in the G Corner ground in Tiruchirapalli today as Congress vice president Rajiv Gandhi thundered against liquor policy of Tamil Nadu. Braving heavy downpour, thousands of party men applauded their young leader's inspiring speech. <br/><br/>Rahul Gandhi promised the youth jobs so that their lives are secured and said that liquor is eating away the hard earned money of families in the state. He said that Kamaraj built families and communities whereas present day leaders broke families and created wedge amongst communities. <br/><br/>Earlier Rahul met farmers from various parts of the state and promised to fight against Land acquisition Bill which is against the interests of farmers. He said that the central government is not able to understand the power of farmers and promised to find solutions to Mullaperiyar and Cauvery river water sharing issues. <br/><br/>Former Union Ministers P Chidambaram, Dr EM Sudarsana Nachiappan, Tamil Nadu Congress Committee President EVKS Elangovan, AICC general secretary Mukul Wasnik were among the leaders who were present in the function.
