Congress Vice President Rahul Gandhi will be the next President of the party. Announcement was made by Chairman of the Central Election Authority of Congress, Mullapally Ramachandran in New Delhi this evening. Mr. Gandhi has been elected unopposed as there was no other nomination for the top post of the party. <br/><br/>89 nomination papers proposing the name of Mr. Gandhi were submitted and all were found valid. Since the withdrawal date and time is over and there is only one candidate in the fray, Mr. Gandhi was declared elected.<br/><br/>Mr. Ramachandran told reporters that Rahul Gandhi will be handed over the certificate of his election as the party President on 16th of this month.
