Congress General Secretary Rahul Gandhi has expressed concern over the poor implementation of the central sponsored welfare schemes in the state. Addressing 73 member state coordination committee of the party at Lucknow, he asked the party workers to ensure that the benefits of these schemes and plans reach to grassroots. In Uttar Pradesh, Congress has geared up its activities in view of the coming Assembly elections. Party has discussed its strategy in length for the elections in its two-day Coordination Committee meeting which was attended by the all central ministers from the state and most of the senior leaders. Party has declared to hold a state convention of the party in the month of April. Uttar Pradesh in-charge Digvijay Singh has said that selection process of candidates for the state assembly elections is going on and their names would be announced by May 31. Rahul Gandhi called upon the party workers to wage relentless battle against BSP government in the state. Laying stress on hard work and gearing up of the organization, Rahul Gandhi said there was no need of being defensive on any issue.Briefing media persons about outcome of the two-day meeting, Party State Unit President Rita Bahuguna Joshi said party has decided to form a committee at every district to monitor implementation of the flagship programmes of the Centre.
