Rahul Gandhi criticises PM Modi for silence on probe into Panama Papers

Congress Vice-president Rahul Gandhi today criticised Prime Minister Narendra Modi, accusing him of making 'big promises' on bringing back black money. <br/><br/>He also asked him to explain why he has not instituted a probe into the matter of the Chattisgarh chief minister's son's name featuring in the 'Panama Papers'.<br/><br/>Addressing a Congress poll rally at Kamalpur for the second phase of Assam Assembly election on Monday, Mr. Gandhi said he had asked Mr. Modi in Parliament why former IPL chief Lalit Modi, who had escaped from the country, had not been brought back. <br/><br/>Addressing another election rally at Dhamdhama, Rahul Gandhi said Congress believes in working for peace and development with feelings of brotherhood and not divisive politics of the BJP.<br/><br/>Mr. Gandhi accused BJP for riding on false propaganda against the state's congress government and false promises in wooing the voters. He alleged that Narendra Modi government has miserably failed in controlling price rise of all the essential commodities and therefore they have not said a single world on price rise. <br/><br/>Rahul raised question why petrol price is still on rise when oil prices in international market is falling drastically. He said in 2014 international price was around 140 dollar a barrel, and now its price is mere 35 dollar per barrel. He appealed people to vote once again for congress to strengthen peace and cooperation in the state and achieve development in real sense of the terms.
