Rahul Gandhi asks youth & women to be part of active politics

In Himachal Pradesh, AICC General Secretary Rahul Gandhi called upon the youth and women to become a part of active politics to change the system. Addressing political rallies in Bilaspur and Chamba today, he said, till the time the youth would not come into politics, corruption could not be weeded out. Campaigning for Congress candidates, he said two types of India lives here, one which is progressing and the other which is not progressing. He said, the regions where women had come forward, have progressed. He said UPA government has worked for the welfare of general public and waived off debt of crores of rupees for farmers, which has benefitted them.

Union Health Minister, Ghulam Nabi Azad accused the BJP government in the state for misleading the people regarding the health schemes. Addressing a press conference in Shimla today, Mr. Azad said that in the advertising campaign run by the Dhumal government, it has claimed to have started various health related schemes which are otherwise Central government schemes.

Communist Party of India (Marxist) General Secretary Sitaram Yechury accused the Bharatiya Janata Party for being opportunistic on the issue of FDI and said that once the BJP brought the FDI in its manifesto and now opposing it because Congress has taken the step to bring it. In a press conference in Shimla, today, he said that his party is not against the FDI if it brings an increase in production capacity, bring more employment and upgrade technology in the country.

Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister, Prem Kumar Dhumal while criticizing Congress during an election rally in district Hamirpur today, refuted the claims of the Congress that the UPA Government is giving liberal financial assistance to the state. Punjab Chief Minister, Prakash Singh Badal, whose SAD is in alliance with BJP in Punjab, also campaigned for Dhumal government at Una.
