Rahul Gandhi alleges NDA has failed on development front

Congress Vice President Rahul Gandhi said NDA government has made a U Turn on the issue of development. Addressing a rally in Aravali this afternoon, Mr Gandhi said the Prime Minister promised that people will get 15 Lakh rupees in their bank accounts, but not even 15 paise were deposited. He accused the Prime Minister of not talking about his future plans for the state and keeping mum on the issue of corruption. <br/><br/>He criticised demonetisation and note ban, saying that the note ban helped thieves convert the black money into white and GST destroyed small businesses and rendered one lakh people jobless. <br/> '<br/>AIR correspondent reports that polling for first phase of assembly elections were conducted in 89 constituencies of Saurashtra, Kutch and South Gujarat yesterday. <br/><br/>Gujarat saw 66.75 voter turn out in the first phase as per revised Election Commission's figures. This is lower than last time's 71.3 per cent for the whole state. Over 2 crore 22 lakh people are eligible to exercise their franchise in the second phase, out of which one crore 7 lakh are women.<br/><br/>The fate of 851 candiates will be decided in this phase. Polling for 93 seats in this phase will be held next Thursday and counting will be taken up on the 18th of December.
