Rahul Gandhi accuses govt of not giving priority to farmers' problems

Congress Vice President Rahul Gandhi today launched a fierce attack on the BJP led NDA government in the Centre, saying that it is not giving any priority to farmers problems. Mr. Gandhi said that Prime Minister's promise for good days has come out as a lie and there is no Achchhe Din today .<br/><br/>Rahul accused that NDA government is not giving any priority to farmers problems. Rahul again said that the country needs pro poor and pro people government and not the "suite boot" government. <br/><br/>Mr Gandhi was criticizing Centeral government's policies while speaking at the culmination of his foot march or padyatra in Saharnapur district today. Raising sugar cane growers issues Mr Gandhi while addressing Mahapanchayat at Seekri Kalan he said sugarcane farmers are in pathetic condition in the region, the mills are closed, and people are jobless.<br/><br/>Mr. Gandhi also attacked on Akhilesh government and said that the state government had promised jobs to youth but nothing has happened till now,adding that there is time for change in the state also. <br/><br/>About eight kilometer long padyatra was taken out along the the Saharanpur -Ambala Highway. On way Mr. Gandhi addressed corner meetings and interacted with farmers.

Leading a padyatra or foot march in Saharanpur district of Uttar Pradesh, to raise farmers issues,especially sugarcane farmers Rahul asked where are those Achchhe Din the Prime minister had promised. He said sugarcane farmers are in pathetic condition in the region, the mills are closed, and people are jobless.<br/><br/>About eight kilometer long padyatra was taken out along the the Saharanpur -Ambala Highway. On way Mr. Gandhi addressed corner meetings and interacted with farmers.<br/><br/>During corner meetings Mr. Gandhi impressed upon the farmers that UPA government had waived off thousands of crores rupees farmers' loans while under MNREGA countless rural labourers were provided work. After the Padyatra,Rahul addressed a meeting of farmers.
