Congress Vice President Rahul Gandhi today emphasised the need to bring structural changes to empower common people.Intracting with corporate leaders in the CII meet in New Delhi today Mr. Gandhi shared his vision with them saying allenation of minorities hurts the country's growth.
He said that the country has winessed faster economic growth in the UPA regime as it greatly lowered tensions among communities and forstered harmony. Mr Rahul Gandhi urged the industry to broaden its economic vision beyond financial concerns and partner with the goverment to foster greater economic growth.
He urged the industry to be compasionate towards accommodating schedule caste, sechedule tribes, minorities, dalits and weaker sections of societies for their welfare. On the speculations in the media about his becoming Prime Minister and his marriage, Rahul Gandhi dimissed them as hypothetical.
BJP described Congress Rahul Gandhi's speech as confusing. Talking to reporters in New Delhi today, party spokesperson Prakash Javadekar said that congress vice president has evaded the important issues like price rise, corruption and terrorism. In his remarks to the conclave Senior BJP leader Arun Jaitley alleged that the UPA-led government has failed to deliver good governance.
He alleged that the current governance model is faulty as the head of the government unable to take decisions. Contenting that quality of governance decides growth of a country, Jaitley said the first aspect of governance is leadership. He sought to know from the government the roadmap it has revert to nine per cent growth rate.
Terming Maoism as a serious problem facing the country, he said Maoists are no reformers because they want to overthrow the government.
