Congress vice-president Rahul Gandhi said merely making a call for the Swatchh Bharat Abhiyan and actually implementing it are two different things. The Congress Vice-Presidnt arrived in Mumbai this morning and headed straight to 326 acre Deonar dumping ground that was in news recently due to three major fires at the site since this January. After reviewing the situation, he interacted with the residents of adjacent Chembur area, who were worst hit by the toxic flames coming out of the fire.

Mr. Gandhi said Mumbai represents the progress and growth of the country and therefore there should be no dumping ground within city limits. This gives rise to pollution and other health issues. He added that despite being in power at the municipal corporation, no measures are being taken to contain the problem. He said this was happening because the ruling party does not have vision and strategy. He said, this is Prime Minister's responsibility and he should find a solution to it.
