AICC General Secretary Rahul Gandhi’s addressed a victory rally of the Congress party this afternoon at IG Park Itanagar. While addressing a huge gathering, Rahul recalled his family’s association with people of the state, and said that Congress party will continue to work for the well being of the people of the state. Assuring to take up with the centre all the demands placed by the state government, Rahul urged the state government to work for the poor and marginalized people of the state. Arunachal Pradesh Congress Committee president Nabam Tuki submitted a memorandum on behalf of Congress government urging release of Green Bonus, funds for mending porter tracks, bridges and early sanction of Green Field Airports. He reiterated that people of state will safeguard the sovereignty and integrity of India. Chief Minister Dorjee Khandu called on center to release funds on time for early execution of development works in the state. Altogether six companies of security forces, including state police, Indian Reserve Battalion (IRB) and CRPF, was deployed in the entire capital complex for the visit. Apart from public address at I G Park, he addressed the Arunachal Pradesh Congress Committee (APCC) executive meeting at Rajiv Bhawan and students and teachers of Rajiv Gandhi University.
