Rahman bags WEF Crystal Award

Internationally renowned music composer A R Rahman was honoured with the Crystal Award of the World Economic Forum at opening ceremony of its annual meet in Davos, Switzerland. Rahman, received the award yesterday. The award is given annually by the WEF to outstanding artists who use their talent not only for their own profession but also for social and charitable work.While the WEF recognised Rahman for his music in Slumdog Millionaire and Bombay Dream, it took note of his association and work in welfare of children. Accepting the award, the famous music composer, who has won several national and international awards, including the Gramy's, said he gets motivation from the social work. A strong 130-member delegation from India is attending the five-day annual WEF meet.
