The Directorate of Revenue Intelligence (DRI) today slapped the charges of FEMA and Customs Act violation against Pakistani Sufi Singer Rahat Fateh Ali Khan and his manager Maroof for recovery of huge undeclared foreign currency from them at the airport in New Delhi. The DRI detained the duo from Indira Gandhi International Airport on Sunday with allegedly undeclared 1.24 lakh dollar and some other instruments too in foreign currency. The Directorate has completed its probe and sent the matter for adjudication. Investigations against event manager Chitresh Shrivastava, who is also under detention, and two foreign exchange dealers of Mumbai, will continue. Earlier, Rahat Fateh Ali Khan was questioned today by the Directorate officials. Rahat was quizzed for about three hours, the third time since his detention. Rahat was detained when he, along with his 16-member troupe, was on his way to Lahore via Dubai.
