A couple of big names crashed on a dramatic Day 2 of the Australian Open Tennis in Melbourne today. Fifth seed Rafael Nadal was dumped in the opening round by fellow Spaniyard Fernando Verdaso in five sets. In women's singles Eighth seed Venus Williams suffered a first-round loss to Johanna Konta in straight sets. Simona Halep was sent packing by the qualifier Zhang Shuai of China. Those raced into the second round today included Andy Murray, Garbine Muguruza, S.Wawrinka, V.Azarenka, former Ana Ivanovic, B-Tomic, R.Stepanek and S.Bolelli besides others. In Men's doubles, Mahesh Bhupathi will partner with G.Muller in the first round of Australian open tomorrow against the duo of A.Bolt and A.Whittingto.
