In French Open, second seed Rafael Nadal of Spain will clash with his countryman Nicolas Almagro in the quarter final on Wednesday. Four time champion Nadal, who is bidding to become only the second man in history after Bjorn Borg to win five or more Roland Garros crowns, has dominated his compatriot in their six-year rivalry. Earlier, Nadal clinched his 200th clay court win to move into the French Open quarter-finals, beating 24th seed Brazilian Thomaz Bellucci 6-2, 7-5, 6-4. On the other hand, Almagro, playing his second French Open quarter-final, reached the last eight by defeating Fernando Verdasco in the last 16 having almost slumped to a first round defeat when he lost the first two sets against Dutch journeyman Robin Haase. In Womens' section, top ranked Serena Williams advances smoothly to the quarterfinals beating Shahar Peer in straight two sets 6-2, 6-2. Williams lost the first seven points, then swept nine in a row. From 2-all, Williams won five consecutive games to take charge of the match as it didn't last long: she hit six aces, broke six times and won in just over an hour.Meanwhile, defending champions Leander Paes and Lukas Dlouhy have advanced to the semifinals of the men's doubles in the French Open Tennis championships. In Paris today, the third-seeded Indo-Czech pair defeated eighth seeds Mariusz Fyrstenberg and Marcin Matkowski of Poland in straight sets 6-1, 6-3.Paes and Dlouhy will now take on the winners of the match between Brazilian duo of Marcelo Melo and Bruno Soares and 10th seeded Austrian-Israeli pair of Julian Knowle and Andy Ram.
