Radio Kashmir, Jammu is celebrating its Foundation day today. On this occasion, a Folk Music Concert is being held at Abhinav Theatre, Jammu. Being the first ever broadcasting centre of the J&K State, which came into existence on Ist December, 1947, the Radio Kashmir heralded the beginning of broadcasting in the State. In Jammu division, the News dished out by Radio Kashmir, Jammu is the main source of information for the people living in remote and far-flung areas of Jammu Division including border districts of Poonch and Rajouri as Newspapers and other mediums of communication are not easily available to them.
