Four Australian police officers have been sacked in connection with the circulation of racist E-mails and disciplinary action has been initiated against 15 others. According to an AAP report, while four have been sacked, one has been demoted, another five have been fined up to 3000 dollars and placed on 12-month good behaviour bonds for taking part. The E-mails that were probed contain homophobic, racist and violent material. Earlier, India lodged a strong protest with Australia against racist e-mails by their police officers against Indians. The External Affair Ministry yesterday summoned the Australian High Commissioner in Delhi, Peter Verghese and handed over a demarche to him conveying India's resentment and concern over the issue.
