The attacks on Indian students in Australia will be focus of discussions between the Australian foreign Minister Stephen Smith and India leaders.<br/><br/>Mr. Smith, who arrived in New Delhi last evening said, he will brief the Indian government on the actions taken by Australia for a conducive steady environment for Indian students there.<br/><br/>The three-day visit comes a month after external affairs minister S M Krishna met Smith in London to express concern over mounting attacks, including some racial, on Indian students in Australia.<br/><br/>The visit comes close on the heels of visit by Australian Prime Minister Kevin Rudd and his deputy.<br/><br/>AIR correspondent adds that these visits were mainly aimed at assuring India about the safety of its students in Australia.<br/><br/>More than hundred cases of attacks have been reported on Indian students there.<br/><br/>Reports say that the security arrangements for the commonwealth games are likely to figure in the talks between the Australian foreign minister and his Indian counterpart, Mr. S.M. Krishna.<br/><br/>In a related development, the Australian and Indian hockey teams have announced that today's tie between the two countries will be a friendship match.<br/><br/>The Australian Foreign Minister will be present to witness the match.
