<br/>The Jammu and Kashmir Governor, Mr. N. N. Vohra, who is also the Chancellor of Shri Mata Vaishno Devi University, Katra, has appointed an eminent Scientist, Prof. R. N. K. Bamezai, as the new Vice Chancellor of the University.<br/><br/>Prof. Bamezai, a Doctorate in Human Genetics from the All India Institute of Medical Sciences, New Delhi, is currently working as the Professor of Genetics and Director, National Centre of Applied Genetics, School of Life Sciences, Jawaharlal Nehru University, New Delhi.<br/><br/>Prof. Bamezai is a Member of the International Association of Environmental Mutagen Societies and Fellow of the National Academy of Sciences (FNASc), National Academy of Medical Sciences (FAMS) and International Medical Sciences Academy (FIMSA).<br/><br/>He is credited with more than 29 years’ experience of teaching and guiding research in various Universities in the country and has trained more than 300 researchers in the past seven years in the area of Human Genetics and Genomics.
