In Sikkim, the Union Home Secretary, R K Singh has reviewed status of disaster affected area in northern part. He spoke to the state Chief Secretary Karma Gyatso over phone today. Meanwhile, the water supply restored in most landslide affected areas in north Sikkim. The official sources said that the essential commodities including 80 bags of rice, Poly Pipes, Raincoats, Torch Lights and, candles have been air dropped at the remote village of Lachung for its distribution to affected people.The state government has confirmed so far about 17 houses including one ICDS centres severely damaged due to flash flood landslides incident occurred recently at Pengong and Rangma Range in north Sikkim. Meanwhile, the relief material collected from NGO’s and individuals have also started reaching to Gangtok and other nearest point for its distribution to affective people.
