The full dress rehearsal of the Republic Day parade was held in New Delhi today amidst tight security. Thirteen tableaus from different states and ten tableaus of various Ministries and Department showcased the country's vibrant cultural heritage, and its impressive achievement. Military might included indigenously developed Brahamastra Missile and network centric operation of the Indian Air Force, which will be a part of Republic day parade on Wednesday, was showcased first time. Covering a distance of 8 KM, the parade started from Vijay Chowk and passed through Rajpath, Tilak Marg, Bahadurshah Zafar Marg, Delhi Gate, Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose road to reach Red Fort. Due to traffic restrictions commuters faced a little nconvenience at some places. The Air space over IGI Airport, Delhi was also closed within a radius of 50 nautical miles today and would also remain closed tomorrow and on Wednesday between 1115 and 1215 hrs.
