Quraishi expresses satisfaction over Bihar election preparedness

The Chief Election Commissioner Mr. S. Y. Quraishi expressed satisfaction over election preparedness of Bihar assembly elections. Addressing mediapersons at Patna after two day review meeting with state officials Mr. Quraishi said an elaborate security arrangement will be made to ensure free and fair polls. Jawans of cetral paramitary forces will be deployed in Naxal infested areas of the state.He said voting rights of weaker section will be protected .An auxiliary booths will be made for weaker section of society. The Chief election commissioner said that 90 percent election photo identity Card( EPIC) has already been prepared and it is being distributed among voters. He said the commission is maintain a strict vigil in flood affected areas of the state. Mobile polling booth will be set up in flood affected areas to so that electorates of these areas may exercise their right of franchise. The Chief Election Commissioner said that all roads in extremist-hit areas should be sanitised before the polls and vulnerability mapping to identify sensitive pockets should be prepared in advance. The Election Commission also directed to keep a close watch on flow of illicit liquor, poll expenditure of candidates and other poll malpractice.
