Queens Baton relay reaches to Karnataka today

The Queens Baton relay entered Karnataka today.The Neelagiri district Collector from Tamilnadu Archana Patnaik handed over the baton to Karnataka Olympic Association President Govindaraj at Kekkanahalla in Chamrajnagar district of Karnataka. The Youth Affairs and Sports minister Gulihatti Shekhar and officials from the district administration were present on this occasion. The pathway on which the relay passed was decorated and cultural troupes’ performance marked the occasion. The relay will reach Bangalore tomorrow after passing by Mysore. The Chief Minister B S Yeddyurappa will receive the baton in Bangalore and hand it over to iconic badminton player Prakash Padukone and Karnataka’s first Olympian Kenneth Powell. The Commonwealth Express, a train displaying information and photographs about the Commonwealth Games has been attracting visitors since August 30th in Mysore. The train will reach Bangaluru tomorrow.
