Queen's baton on CWG reaches Kerala

Queen's baton of Commonwealth Games reached Kerala on Thursday. On its arrival from Kanyakumari at the Kerala border, the baton was received with great fanfare by a host of VIPs, eminent sports personalities and large number of general public of the state.Rousing welcome awaits the Queen’s baton at different districts of Kerala. A glittering function has been organized at the state border with Tamil Nadu and subsequently at Thiruvanathapuram to receive the baton. It will be taken to Lakshadweep Islands as well by air. Till 31 st of this month queen's baton will be touching northern districts of the state. It may be recalled that after covering 70 nations, the Games Queen’s baton entered India from Pakistan through the Wagha border. The baton will be taken to all state capitals and union territories covering a distance of 20, 000Kms.The Commonwealth Games express train is already positioned in Kerala.
