For the first time in 44 years, Queen Elizabeth II will miss the Commonwealth Games owing to heavy workload. Prince Charles will represent the British Royal family in Delhi this October. A spokesman for Buckingham Palace said the Queen had a packed schedule of appointments during autumn which did not include a visit to Delhi in October. Meanwhile, the Organising Committee of the Commonwealth Games is fine with Queen Elizabeth II skipping the event in October and is ready to welcome Prince Charles as representative of the royal family, OC Chairman Suresh Kalmadi today said.
