Quami Ekta Dal leader Mukhtar Ansari released on parole

In Uttar Pradesh, Quami Ekta Dal leader Mukhtar Ansari was released on parole this morning. Though a court had granted him parole from 1st to 10th of this month, Ansari was released from the Agra Central Jail today only. Mukhtar Ansari is reported to be going to Ghosi Lok Sabha constituency in Mau district, from where he is contesting, after opting out of race in Varanasi.

AIR correspondent reports, the authorities cited unavailability of sufficient police force to accompany Ansari to his parliamentary constituency during the elections to be the reason for not releasing him despite parole orders.

This is pertinent to mention that Mukhtar Ansari is being taken to Ghosi of Maunath Bhanjan by road and he is supposed to return to the Agra jail by this evening, as it is last day of his parole. His wife claimed that she has deposited one lakh sixteen thousand rupees on the demand of authorities as security expenses for one day.
