Minister of State for Mines Dinisha Patel has underlined the need for quality exploration of raw materials to meet the urgent requirement of various industries. He said this while addressing the Parliamentary Consultative Committee Meeting of the Ministry of Mines in New Delhi.

Dinisha said the detailed exploration carried out had led to opening of several mines in the country and made a sizeable contribution in exploration inputs for energy minerals like coal and lignite.

The Minister informed that the lignite deposits established by MECL in Rajasthan and Tamil Nadu have been developed for setting-up power plants in coal deficient regions of the country.
