Quake of slight intensity hit twice in Himachal Pradesh

In Himachal Pradesh , earthquake of slight intensity struck twice in many places of Chamba, Kangra, and Lahaul Spiti district today. According to the seismological centre at Dharamsala, a tremour having an intensity of magnitude on 4.3 on the Richter scale was experienced at 9 a.m in the morning with its epicenter towards Chamba-Lahul Spiti border region. This was followed by another jolt of earthquake of an intensity of magnitude 4.5 on the Richter scale at 2.05 pm in the afternoon. AIR correspondent reports that people in Chamba came out of their houses in panic when the shocks of quake were felt. The walls of some houses developed cracks due to the affect of earthquake in some villages of the district. However, there is no report of any loss of life.
