In Football, Qatar thrashed India 3-1 in the second round of the 2012 Olympics Qualifiers at the Al Sadd Stadium in Doha last night. India unnerved a technically superior Qatar by taking an early lead but were eventually outplayed. Striker Jeje Lalpekhlua was the scorer for India while for Qatar, Skipper Hasan Al Haydos, Al Khanfan and Mohammed Elneel got their names on the scoresheet. It will now be a tough task for India to futher advance in the qualifying round as they now will have to beat Qatar 2-0 or better in the second leg at Pune's Balewadi Sports Complex on June the 23rd.
