Qatar is reviewing the 13-point list of demands of four Arab countries and a formal response would be made by the foreign ministry and delivered to Kuwait. Stating this the Qatari official spokesman added that the demands were not reasonable or actionable. Kuwait is helping mediate the dispute. Confirming the list Sheikh Saif bin Ahmed Al Thani, director of the Qatari government's communications office, said in a statement yesterday that the illegal blockade has nothing to do with combatting terrorism, but it is about limiting Qatar's sovereignty, and outsourcing the country's foreign policy.<br/>The demand by four Arab States, Bahrain, Egypt, Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates asked Qatar to reduce tie with Iran and close a Turkish military base and shut down its broadcaster, Al Jazeera. According to the list, Qatar must refuse to naturalize citizens from the four countries and revoke Qatari citizenship for existing nationals where such citizenship violates those countries' laws. <br/>Meanwhile, the United Nations yesterday offered to step in to help resolve a deepening crisis in the Gulf after Qatar was confronted with a list of demands from its neighbors, including the closure of Al-Jazeera television.
