In a hard fought three setter in Doha, she edged past the World Number One Serena Williams 7-6, 2-6, 6-3 to win the title. The outcome of the victory will not have any bearing on the new World number One ranking for Serena Williams since she is way ahead in terms of points over Azarenka.
