Pyari Mohan Mohapatra resigns as BJD RS leader

Member of Parliament Pyari Mohan Mohapatra has resigned as the BJD parliamentary party leader in Rajya Sabha. He submitted his reresignation letter to the Chairman of Rajya Sabha Hamid Ansari today morning.

Mohapatra said breakdown of communication between him and BJD president and Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik is the reason behind his resignation. He also said he will send the copy of his resignation letter to the party president soon. He, however, said he is yet to get the formal letter from the party president regarding his suspension.
Mohapatra was suspended from the party along with two BJD MLAs in June last. The suspension came after an alleged failed coup against the Naveen Patnaik government on 29th of May this year when the Chief Minister was on a foreign visit to London
