Pvt. technology company launches retrieved spacecraft from orbit

A private technology company successfully launched and retrieved a spacecraft from orbit, something only previously achieved by six nation States. The American space agency, NASA, said, a bull-shaped capsule called Dragon splash-landed in the Pacific Ocean having twice orbited the earth.Until now, what had gone up had not come down. It burned up on re-entry into the earth's atmosphere. Now, with a successful splash-down by the Dragon capsule, commercialisation of space has taken a step closer. The dragon rode into orbit on a rocket, circled the earth twice and then parachuted, as planned, into the Pacific Ocean. The California-based company, Space Exploration Technology, or Spacetech, has a contract with NASA worth $2.6 billion to supply the international space station once the space shuttle stops flying.
