PV Sindhu crashes out of Singapore Open

Rio Olympic Silver medalist P V Sindhu crashed out of the Singapore Open super-series badminton tournament today after losing to Spain's Carolina Marin in a quarter-final match 11-21, 15-21. India also lost the mixed doubles quarter-final match. 3rd seeded Chinese pair of Lu Kai and Huang Yaqiong defeated the Indian pair of B.Sumeeth Reddy and Ashwini Ponnappa 21-11, 21-8. However, 5th seeded Indian shuttler B.Sai Praneeth reached the semi-finals in men's singles today, defeating 8th seeded Tanongsak Saensomboonsuk of Thailand 15-21, 21-14, 21-19. Later today, unseeded Kidambi Srikanth will play his quarter-final match against 5th seeded Shi Yuqi of China.
