On the occasion of National Technology Day on Wednesday, the Pushpa Gujral Science City, Kapurthala, organized a ‘Space Olympiad’ in which about 350 students participated in various competitions. Dr. Madan Lal Singla, who was the project leader of Moon Impact Probe (MIP) which discovered the water on the Moon during the Chandrayaan Mission, was the chief guest of the function. Dr. Singla highlighted the Indian Space Programme and its achievements during the last five decades with a presentation on Indian Human Space Pragramme, its objectives and the technological challenges. On this occasion, Dr. R.S. Khandpur, Director General, Science City said that space technology is a highly advanced technology that has experienced rapid developments since its emergence in the mid 20th century.
