The CPI(M) has alleged that the latest revelations on the arms drop in Purulia in December 1995 are further confirmation of the fact that there was a well planned conspiracy to use violence to destabilize the Left Front government in West Bengal. A statement issued by the Polit Bureau said that the Centre should explain why it failed to act on the information given by the British Intelligence. The CPI has also demanded that the UPA government should immediately order a thorough probe into the whole issue. Both the parties were reacting to an interview given to a private TV channel by Kim Davy, the prime accused and Peter Bleach who was sentenced in the case.
