100 litres of pure drinking water will be supplied to every citizen in West Bengal by the year 2020. Talking to newspersons in Kolkata on Monday the State Public Health Engineering Minister Mr. Subrata Mukherjee said that, the distributed water would be made free of iron and chloride. Besides this, his ministry is taking steps to provide arsenic-free water in affected districts like North and South 24 Parganas, Nadia and Murshidabad and partially in Bankura and Purulia and West Midnapur. The Minister informed that, his department is taken steps to set-up treatment plants in the effected districts to distribute arsenic-free water.
