<br/><br/>Former president Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam on Saturday said that India has the challenge to bring out the second green revolution by doubling its food output, with the constraints of less land, less water and less manpower. Speaking at a mela organised by the Assam, Science and Technology Council Baihata Chariali, Dr.Kalam said, Assam with over 26,000 village and rich natural resources, minerals, forests, water and fertile land could harness its potential for inclusive growth through the Assam PURA – Mission. Dr. Kalam said that the Mission PURA – Providing Urban ameneties in Rural Areas – should focus on increasing agricultural productivity and value addition to agro-products and nurturing and promoting horticulture. <br/><br/>
