Punjab Polls: Huge amount of unaccounted money, illicit liquor seized

In Punjab, Election Commission surveillance teams have so far seized unaccounted money of more than Rs 28 crore.Micro observers have been deployed in all the distilleries of the state and the distilleries are locked in the evening so that no liquor goes out during night.Excise teams have seized more than one crore mililiters of illicit liquor and almost the same number of country wine bottles so far.Large quantity of poppy husk, opium, smack heroin and other drugs have also been seized.In last two days 26 kg of heroin has been seized in last two days near international border in Ferozepur and Amritsar sector.Meanwhile, campaigning has intensified with only one week left for polling.National leaders of all national parties are campaigning in the state. Star campaigners of national parties addressed rallies in the state. All the parties are focusing the campaign on development as people are also raising the same issue with the candidates. Shiromani Akali Dal-BJP combine is asking for votes for the development works done in the last five years while the Congress says that, all the development has been done by grants given by the centre.
