Punjab Police will issue Look Out Circular (LOC) against all those NRIs who have gone back to foreign countries after abandoning their wives in the state. Inspector General of Police, NRI Affairs, Gurpreet Deo who has been specially appointed to look into such matters more sympathetically, said that with the issuing of the LOC all the ports including airports and shipping ports would be informed to arrest such persons as soon as they enter the country.Speaking to AIR Jalandhar Correspondent Rajesh Bali, the IG said that in the last three years the NRI Affairs wing of the Punjab Police has registered about 200 complaints by the abandoned wives against their ‘run-away’ husbands. She said, action will be taken against police officials who do not deliberately issue LOC.
