In Punjab, a state level Police Commemoration Day function was organised at Punjab Armed Police (PAP) Campus in Jalandhar on Friday, to pay tributes to those officers and jawans of the Punjab Police who had laid down their lives during the black days of terrorism in Punjab to maintain peace.Laying wreaths at the martyrs’ memorial, the Director General of Punjab Police, Anil Kaushik said that 2468 police officers and jawans had sacrificed their lives during terrorism in the state.In this year, 693 officers and jawans of police and para-military forces have sacrificed their lives for safety and security of the nation. Out of them 59 are from Punjab Police. He said the Punjab Police is providing all the possible help to the families of the state police martyrs.
