In Punjab, government agencies and private millers have procured more than 91 lakh tonnes of Wheat till last evening. Out of total procurement of wheat in all the procurement centers of Punjab, Government agencies procured 90 lakh 86 thousand tones, whereas private traders procured 15,797 tonnes of wheat. MARKFED procured 21 lakh 72 thousand tonnes and is leading in procurement. The Central Government agency FCI had been able to procure 13 lakh 27 thousand tonnes of wheat. Ferozepur with 10 lakh 40 thousand tonnes of procurement is leading in procurement operations The State Government has set up 1734 procurement centres.
