Punjab issues instructions of adoption of children

To stop illegal adoption of abandoned children, the Punjab Government has issued instructions to the Deputy Commissioners of all the districts of the state so that such children should also enjoy their rights.<br/><br/>Our Jalandhar Correspondent Rajesh Bali reports that in a communiqu’ issued by the Director, Women and Child Development, Punjab, it has been said that through the legal adoption the child becomes rightful possessor of all those rights which are attached with the child’s relations.<br/><br/>There are five NGOs in the state which are authorised for adoption. These are Shishu Greh Trust, Nari Niketan and Children Welfare Society, Pingla Ghar, both in Jalandhar. Nishkam Sewa Ashram on Pakhowal Road and Swami Ranga Nand Bhoori Wale in Village Talwandi Khurd, both in Ludhiana and Yaadvindra Pooran Bal Niketan in Patiala.<br/><br/>Instructions have also been issued to Police and Civil administration and Civil Surgeons of all the districts to admit such abondened children in these institutions when ever they come to know about them.<br/>
