Centre is keeping a close watch on the situation in Punjab in the wake of continued protest following the desecration of holy book of Sikhs. Talking to media on the sideline of a function in New Delhi, Home Minister Rajnath Singh termed the Punjab incident and killing of Dalits in Haryana as very unfortunate and condemnable.<br/><br/>He said he has spoken to Chief Ministers of both the states and expressed hope that peace will prevail soon. Mr. Singh also expressed concern over the recent incidents of intolerance and appealed the people to maintain calm.<br/><br/>
