Punjab and Haryana High Court has quashed the selection of 3,206 Junior Basic Teachers who were appointed in 2000.

All these candidates were selected during the tenure of Indian National Lok Dal President OP Chautala as Chief Minister of Haryana. On January 22 last year, a special CBI court in Delhi had sentenced OP Chautala and his MLA son Ajay Chautala for 10 years in prison for committing irregularities in the selection of these teachers.
