Indian High Commission in Islamabad has forwarded a list of 17 mentally unsound persons, believed to be Indians, to ascertain their identity for their early repatriation. These prisoners, which include four women, are lodged in Pakistan jails since long despite completing their sentences.<br/><br/>AIR correspondent reports that Chandigarh Police has today issued a Public Notice in various newspapers in this region giving the photographs of the persons with their names. The notice mentions that these persons have completed their sentences but due to non- confirmation of their nationality, they could not be repatriated. Police has asked people to come forward and identify them by calling on its control room numbers.<br/><br/>In June this year also, the Indian High Commission had forwarded a list of 22 Indians lodged in Pakistan jails who could not be repatriated on the same grounds. Police sources told AIR no one had come forward to claim them.
