In Punjab, one farmer died and several farmers and police personnel got injured when agitating farmers scuffled with police in Mansa district this evening. Farmers have been agitating there for the last ten days against alleged forcible acquisition of agricultural land by the state government for the establishment of a Power Thermal Plant of private sector. Farmers alleged that a farmer was killed in the police lathi charge while administration and police officials said that a 80 year old person died a natural death in the crowd. Postmortem of body has not yet been done to establish the cause of death.
