<span style="color: #222222;">The Government of India has approved the rates of nutrient-based fertilizer subsidy on phosphatic and nutritious fertilizers for the fertilizer season 2023-24, which will be applicable from the 1st of this month to the 31st March of next year. A total of 22,303 crore rupees subsidy benefits are expected to be given to the farmers following this announcement. In Punjab, the farmers have wholeheartedly hailed this decision.</span><br />'' <span style="color: #222222;"> </span><br />'' <span style="color: #222222;">Akashvani correspondent reports that Farmers of Punjab are happy with the increase in the rates of nutrient-based fertilizer subsidies. Gurvinder Singh, a farmer from Batala town of Gurdaspur district, considers the decision commendable and welcomes it.</span><br />'' <span style="color: #222222;"> </span><br />'' <span style="color: #222222;">He suggested that the government should also make plans to encourage crops that require less fertilizer or water.</span><br />'' <span style="color: #222222;"> </span><br />'' <span style="color: #222222;">Certainly, this decision of the Union Government will benefit the farmers of Punjab in a big way and will prove to be another step towards the commitment of the Government to double the agricultural income of the farming community. </span><br />
