In Punjab, 17 farmer and labour organisaitons demanding relaxations in paddy procurement norms from the State and Centre have extended their protest till 4.00 pm today, resulting rail traffic disruption further. The farmer organisations led by Bhartiya Kisan Union are demanding moisture limit of paddy be raised from 17 to 22 per cent, dis-coloration limit from five to 12 per cent and MSP of wheat to be hiked as per Swaminahtan Commissions’ recommendations.AIR Jalandhar correspondent reports that the Railway authorities have to either cancel or divert some trains today also.
